This is the first of my Cherry Blossom and skull series. I have always loved the look and symbolism of the Cherry blossom... in China the Cherry blossom symbolize feminine beauty and strength, while in Japan it symbolizes the transient nature of life...
both are relevant and paired well with the skull which to most symbolizes death...
to me the pairing can be interpreted a couple of different ways...beauty in death...or the inevitability of death...
